Project descriptionIn this project, we were assigned to create a poster in pairs. We had to choose an animal and find its information and relate it to its mating system. I decided to work with Sooyoung and we chose canis lupus or wolf as our organism. How does this relate to Eslos?We are a STRATEGIC LEARNER because in this assignment we were able to recognize and understand the essential part of this lesson which is to learn about the mating system of canis lupus. We help one another improve our understanding and explain what we understood to each other. We conduct research using our computer.
We are INNOVATIVE THINKERS because we build on the knowledge of others and adapted to our own understanding. We were creative and original on how we would design and express our work. We are ARTICULATE COMMUNICATORS because we had to present to the whole class and we were able to make the majority of our class understand what we are explaining. We are LEADERS FOR THE FUTURE because we work together in pairs and were able to finish this poster which was our task. We work on our differences on the style of drawings and colour and were able to go along very well. We help each one another evaluate others work and improve. We were assigned into groups to find information about the given topic that was assigned to each one of the groups. It was a class google powerpoint in which we had to work on. In my group, we were assigned to make slides about natural selection and modes of speciation which includes allopatric speciation,sympatric speciation, parapatric speciation, and peripatric speciation. We divided up the work, and I had to do natural selection. In this project, we have developed some elements according to the ESLOs which are STRAGETIC LEARNERS in which we had to created a slide with limited time. By this, we had to plan our slide as soon as we got the topic that we would have to do. We had to do research in order to find information about the topic that we got. INNOVATIVE THINKERS in which we had to create a slide based using the information that we have found without copying them. We had to develop a slide that our friends would be able to understand since they would be learning about it the first time. ARTICULATE COMMUNICATORS in which we had to speak to the whole class and communicate to our friends. Besides this, we had to talk to our groups and discuss whether who will present about which topic. Also, we had used the powerpoint to present and point on the important detais that our friends would have to emphasize on. LEADERS FOR THE FUTURE in which we work in our group and discuss on how we would be able to finish presenting on time since there is a time limit. Also, we had to help each other explain about the topics if they had missed some points. We work as a group to make the best presentation that we could and support one another.
We were assigned to work in groups to create a doumentary video. We were able to pick any species of animal and create a video about its migrating and foraging behaviours. Based on the ESLOs, this project help us earn several elements which includes STRAGETIC LEARNERS in which we had to use computers to do research and select important information that we would like to include in our video. At the beginning, we had to plan whether what type of style we wanted our video to be. After we decided that we wanted it as some type of puppet show, we began searching for cliparts in order to finish it as fast as possible. We printed them out, cutted them, and laminated them. Without wasting time, we started filming them and editted it. INNOVATIVE THINKERS in which we wanted to make a video that is unique and different from others. We asked our classmates on which type of videos they would make and from that we created a video that is different from others. Using our computer, we used imovie to make edits and add in transition to make our video flow smoothly. ARTICULATE COMMUNICATORS in which we listen to every members in our group to find the best ideas and solution to complete the video. We had to create a script on what we would speak and record our voices to add into the video. Our voices would explain the details that we wanted to claritfy or tell the viewer of our video. LEADERS FOR THE FUTURE in which our group work together to acheive a common goal which is to make the video as good as possible that we could. In the process of creating this video, there might be some differences in ideas of how we want the video to be. However, we talked to one another and accept the differences in ideas that we had and successfully agreed on the best idea that each of us suggested. |
