In this project, we were assigned to create a model and timeline of a particular country. We had Thailand as the country that we would be conducting research on and there were three members. In this project, we had used coffee paper to make the timeline. In addition, we used paper clay and bagasse paper to create the model which we decided that it would be monument of democracy. I think that the successes that my group had was our end product which is the timeline and the model. We were able to create these products just as we had pictured it in our head. During the process, we had used white paper to write information in our first time which absolutely did not go along with our big coffee paper. We had to rewrite lots of parts. Besides this, it was quite difficult because burning the coffee paper was hard. It took a long period of time in order to burn it. After doing it several times, we learned that stepping the paper was the best way to stop the fire. I think that they way that we had organize in order to finish the project was well planned. We followed Mr.Woody’s plan, but changed it a bit. We started to gather the information for the timeline first, then we finished the model and then complete the timeline. Although, we spent too much time on little details which wasted a lot of our time. As a learner, I developed different type of skills. I have learned to write in fonts that I never had wrote. Not only this, I’ve learned how to gather information quickly and filter only the things that I needed. As a person, I’ve learned how to manage time wisely and how to work with others. According to MUIDS ESLOs, I have developed: 1) STRATEGIC LEARNERS I recognized the important part of this project which is the learning process. I have learned that what we learn is more important than the final product that we have made. My group members and I are able to recognize our mistakes and have find ways in order to improve ourselves throughout the process. We have planned to learn without wasting time because whenever we take a long time to do something, we would always reflect on how we would do things faster. Throughout this project, we had used computer to conduct research and find pictures for our timeline and model. 2) INNOVATIVE THINKERS We were able to be creative and original. In this project, we were the first group to use coffee paper, paper clay, and bagasse paper. Besides this, we were able to analyze and criticize our work. We have solved several issues such as adjusting the color of coffee paper and the process in which we burnt the coffee paper. We also stuck back the tray with pedestal since it is very fragile and it broke several times. 3) ARTICULATE COMMUNICATORS We listened to each other throughout the process. In order to conduct the research, we had to read and write out the information that we had found online. In this process, we have to talk to each other and discuss what we were going to do. Not only this, random people are selected to present in front of the class. We had to listen and speak to our friends in the class in order for them to understand our topic and for us to learn about theirs. Moreover, we had used weebly in order to display our work to other teachers and students. 4) MORALLY INTELLIGENT PERSONS In this project, we had used Mr.Woody’s room as the location to create our products. We always cleaned up his room and helped clean up the mess that other groups had done. We worked for a long period of time everyday and were very hardworking and caring. 5) LEADERS FOR THE FUTURE We worked as a team and respect each other ideas. We go by majority vote in order to make decisions. We accept our members opinion and are opened to comments and criticism that they make. We always gave feedback and help other members improve the project. Furthermore, we use google documents to collect data and help each other edit. Mindmap 3This is the third mind map that we made and it is the last one. By this, we had finished all of our projects and it shows that we had learned more information about our country.

TimelineThis timeline was conducted by my group. It is one of our final products. It shows the important people, events, symbols, and fun facts of Thailand. Model - monument of democracyThis is the final product of our model. It is a model of Monument of Democracy which is one of the most important thing in Thailand. Learning record formThis learning record form is to keep track of the information that we find throughout this project. We came up with questions that we had and find solutions to it. By this, we had to track the dates that we found the information and add questions about the things that we have never seen before. We are able to learn and explore by ourselves as individuals. This helps us observe our learning process. Information for the TimelineThis is the information that we had gathered for the timeline that we were going to made. We listed out the event that we were going to include in our timeline. Work logThis work log is to keep track of the work that each of us had done. How does this relate of Eslos?I am a STRATEGIC LEARNER because I recognize what is important and understand the essential part of this essay. I reflect on the mistakes that I’ve made by editing all of the comments that the teacher had given to me. I had use class time to work on the essay and manage my time to finish it. I use my laptop to conduct research for this essay. I am an INNOVATIVE THINKER because I am able to build on the idea and explanation of others and adapt it into my essay. I am able to paraphrase and explain it into my own words. I am an ARTICULATE COMMUNICATOR because I am able to talk to my friends and discuss what I should edit in my essay. Besides this, my teacher and I communicate via edmodo in order to submit works and give comments. I am the LEADERS FOR THE FUTURE because I accept the comments that given from my teachers and friends. We work through our differences and accept one another ideas. We evaluate one another work and help each other improve. In this project, we have to schedule a tour based on the country that we were given. There were four countries to choose from which are: 1) Istanbul, Turkey 2) Esfahan, Iran 3) Jerusalem, Israel / Palestine 4) The United Arab Emirates In our group, we had Israel and Palestine. We had to find photos and make a powerpoint and acted as if we were a real tour guide taking our class to the tour. Our group decided to make a tour sticker and hand out a postcard about Palestine lass loss as shown in the photos below. This project teaches a lot of elements included in the ESLOs which are STRATEGIC LEARNERS We had to use computers and technology to research the information we needed on our own. INNOVATIVE THINKERS We thought of creative ways to make the tour fun and enjoyable for our friends such as making tour stickers, handing out postcards, and printing out the tour schedule. ARTICULATE COMMUNICATORS We had to present to our class without reading our script. This involves the skills in communicating to others since we have to teach the class new knowledge that they haven't been taught in class. ALTRUISTIC GLOBAL CITIZENS Since we got Palestine and Israel as our country, we taught the class about the conflict and how in the current situation Palestine is in a bad condition. We do our job as a community in teaching our friends about how other nations needed help from us. LEADERS FOR THE FUTURE We had to work with others in order to complete this project. This involves a lot of practice and learning to work with different kinds of people.
This infographic is a project in Asian Society and Economic class. We would be given a topic and had to work in pairs with someone who we had never worked with. I had Pangpun as my pair and our topic was Sun Yat Sen and his three principles.
In order to come up with this project there are processes that we had to work on, this helps us develop skills which includes articulate communicators, innovative thinkers, and leaders for the future. By articulate communicators, we had to summarize the content learned in the class. We had to make it simple and easy for others to understand. On the other hand, there had to be enough details and background information. Since we had to present this infographic to our class and it would be used as a review for our friends in class. From this, we had developed the skills to communicate with others. By innovative thinkers, we had to make this infographic with creativity and originality. This infographic was edit and fixed various times until we finalized it. Lastly, leaders for the future because we had to work with someone we have never worked with. We learned to adapt ourselves to any circumstances and situations that was given. Also, we had to teach the class which shows that we are able to make others listen and would be able to pass on tasks to others if we were to be a leader in the future. |
